Sports is an international language and activity bringing people together from all walks of life. It impacts people, physically, relationally, emotionally and internally teaching many life lessons. Thus, it is loved by many for not just the competitive nature of it, but for people’s holistic development. However, the challenge is that not all people and countries have the same accessibility to resources, training and programs so that they can participate at the same level. This is why Ethne’ has chosen to get involved in helping empower and equip the unique ethnic and marginalized peoples so that they too may benefit and be developed holistically through sports.
Education
Most would agree that education is a key development piece for everyone’s life, but not everyone has the same access to it. Thus, many are limited to a life of poverty and lack any chance at social mobility just by the virtue of where they are born. Those trapped in poverty or cut off from educational opportunities even know how significant the chance to study is, so many of them lose hope. That is why Ethne’ focuses on education: to bring hope to students for a better life and to help them reach their potential through scholar programs, educational seminars, school adoption, and infrastructure investment. We also supply them with backpacks, school supplies, food allowance, and mentoring. Join us in bringing hope through education! Our main program through education is called Ethne or Dream Scholars. Partnering with Davao Dream Center International, an NGO based in Mindanao, Philippines we currently sponsor over 200 children in eight locations among the poor and marginalized. Supporting a child is roughly $15 a month and helps walk alongside them to help them stay in and excel in school. Join us as we impact kid’s futures by empowering them through education.
Business
EmpoweriSome studies have shown that business and micro-enterprise development is one of the keys to confronting the poverty epidemic impacting millions around the globe. Again, in many situations around the world, people are cut off from training, opportunities, and resources to better their lives through business and honest employment. Therefore, Ethne’ seeks to fill that gap by resourcing people with training, micro-capital, mentoring and potential market access, so that these people can meet their basic needs and take care of their families so that they too can enjoy the gift of life beyond a subsistence existence. We seek to bring hope through business to the ethnically unique and marginalized! Recently, in light of the Pandemic, we launched what we call Restore 5000 Micro-investment development program. Starting in the Southern Philippines, our goal is to equip, train, mentor and invest in 5000 families to help them launch or relaunch small livelihood projects. Each family commits to a 5-9 month journey of training and mentoring as we invest in and walk with them to establish their businesses. Join us – it is roughly $150 to help a family.
